A stronger stand on their beliefs and a firmer grasp on their future were taken Friday by delegates to the 29th general council of the Assemblies of God, in session at the Memorial Coliseum.

At the adoption, the Rev. T. F. Zimmerman, general superintendent, commented, `` The Assemblies of God has been a bulwark for fundamentalism in these modern days and has, without compromise, stood for the great truths of the Bible for which men in the past have been willing to give their lives ''.

Friday afternoon the Rev. T. F. Zimmerman was reelected for his second consecutive two-year term as general superintendent of Assemblies of God.

To step up the denomination's program, the Rev. Mr. Brandt suggested the vision of 8,000 new Assemblies of God churches in the next 10 years.

Almost the entire population of the islands practises some religion, with three-quarters of the country either following the United Church of Christ – Congregational in the Marshall Islands ( UCCCMI ) or the Assemblies of God.

During the next twelve years he pastored five Assemblies of God churches in Texas: in the cities of Tom Bean, Farmersville ( twice ), Talco, Greggton, Texas, and Van.

Prior to 1967, the Assemblies of God, along with the majority of other Pentecostal denominations, officially opposed Christian participation in war and considered itself a peace church.

Bishop Haik Hovsepian and the denomination he represented, the Assemblies of God, were ordered to comply with the following directives: ( 1 ) Church services could not be held in Persian, the official language of Iran ; ( 2 ) Church members must be issued membership cards and produce them upon attendance ; ( 3 ) Membership lists, complete with addresses, must be handed over to governmental authorities ; ( 4 ) Meetings must be confined to Sunday, not Friday the officially recognized day of worship ; ( 5 ) Only members could attend Sunday meetings ; and ( 6 ) New members could only be added to the membership and admitted to meetings once the Ministry of Information and Islamic Guidance had been notified.
