Intended to provide a lighter-hearted cinematic experience to contrast with the harder science of Thunderbirds Are Go, the Andersons elected to base the plot of Thunderbird 6 on Skyship One, a futuristic airship that is the latest project of the scientist Brains.

He grew increasingly fascinated with the strange phenomenon of nobody ( including himself and his friends ) actually discussing race relations or exploring the mostly untold stories of the black experience in the punk scene, despite the plethora of accomplished black artists like Mick Collins, Fishbone, Vaginal Davis, and Bad Brains, and indeed punk rock's origins as an offshoot of rock and roll itself and the pioneering work of innovators like Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Little Richard, Sister Rosetta Tharpe and Jimi Hendrix.

The 4 song ( " Big Cat Stomp / What You Lack In Brains / Bury You Alive / Blues Theme ") EP was released in May 2010. A UK tour had to be canceled due to a volcanic eruption in Iceland, but they toured the US extensively through December 2010 with Warner on drums and another former Blackheart, Sean Koos, on bass.

An important group in the New York hardcore scene, they performed regularly at CBGB and toured the U. S. extensively, often with other early punk bands such as the Dead Kennedys, Bad Brains, The Misfits and the Beastie Boys.

They have toured across North America a few times over their career, performing with such bands as GWAR, They Might Be Giants, Dayglo Abortions, MC Frontalot, Freezepop, Bad Brains and Nomeansno.

During this time, the band recorded a track called The Regulator for the Bad Brains ' Never Give In tribute album, and toured with Deftones throughout Europe.

Bad Brains were planning a three-date tour of Australia in June 2010, but were forced to cancel due to health reasons.

They returned to Australia in 1985 for six months ( Turner quit and reconvened his earlier group Fungus Brains ; he would later form Dirty Three ) and then travelled again to the UK.

By early 1978, the D. C. jazz-fusion group Mind Power had transformed into Bad Brains, one of the first bands to be identified with hardcore punk.

Hardcore punk flourished throughout the early to mid 1980s, with bands leading the genre such as Black Flag, Bad Brains, Minor Threat, Suicidal Tendencies, amongst others.
