Nepal participates in a number of UN specialized agencies and is a member of the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, Colombo Plan, and the Asian Development Bank.

Economically, the Philippines is participant in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, Asian Development Bank, the Colombo Plan, Group of 24, G-20, G-77, the World Bank, Next Eleven and the World Trade Organization ( WTO ).

After 1950 under the Colombo Plan some students and trainees received education in New Zealand.

Consequently, in 1962 Bhutan joined the Colombo Plan for Cooperative, Economic, and Social Development in Asia and the Pacific known as the Colombo Plan, and in 1966 notified India of its desire to become a member of the United Nations ( UN ).

Bhutan joined the Colombo Plan in 1962, International Postal Union in 1969 and became a member of the United Nations in 1971.

Australia was one of the founders of both the United Nations and the South Pacific Commission ( 1947 ), and in 1950, it proposed the Colombo Plan to assist developing countries in Asia.

The Colombo Plan is a regional organization that embodies the concept of collective inter-governmental effort to strengthen economic and social development of member countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

The primary focus of all Colombo Plan activities is on human resources development.

Originally conceived as lasting for a period of six years, the Colombo Plan was extended several times until 1980, when it was extended indefinitely.

Initially it was called the Colombo Plan for Cooperative Economic Development in South and Southeast Asia.

When it adopted a new constitution in 1977, its name was changed to " The Colombo Plan for Cooperative Economic and Social Development in Asia and the Pacific " to reflect the expanded composition of its enhanced membership and the scope of its activities.

In the early years, Colombo Plan assistance from developed to developing countries comprised both transfer of physical capital and technology as well as a strong component of skills development.

Hence, while infrastructure by way of airports, roads, railways, dams, hospitals, fertilizer plants, cement factories, universities, and steel mills were constructed in member countries through Colombo Plan assistance, a large number of people were simultaneously trained to manage such infrastructure and the growing economies.

The Colombo Plan is not intended as an integrated master plan to which national plans were expected to conform.

The principal organs of the Colombo Plan are-the Consultative Committee, the Council and the Secretariat.

* The Consultative Committee ( CCM ), comprises all member governments and is the highest review and policy making body of the Colombo Plan.

Its biennial meetings provide a forum for the exchange of views on current development problems facing member countries and review the work of the Colombo Plan in economic and social development within the region.

* The Colombo Plan Council, comprises heads of diplomatic missions of member governments who are resident in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

In her 2010 speech, Dato ' Patricia Yoon-Moi Chia states: " the current Colombo Plan looks very different since our restructuring and revitalization in 1995.

The Romanian Mission in Colombo was closed in 1995 but reopened as a Commercial Office in 1998.

The headquarters of the CSE have been located at the World Trade Center Towers in Colombo since 1995 and it also has branches across the country in Kandy, Matara, Kurunegala, Jaffna and Negombo.

He was educated at the prestigious Royal College, Colombo, where he played for the college cricket team, debuting in the Royal-Thomian series in 1925, and captained the rugby team at the annual " Royal-Trinity Encounter " ( which later became known as the Bradby Shield Encounter ).

The Profaci family now became the Colombo crime family.

Colombo became a top enforcer in what was originally the Profaci crime family and soon became a capo.

After the Colombo shooting, Joseph Yacovelli became the acting boss.

In the mid-1970s, Gallo transferred from the Gallo crew of the Colombo crime family to the Genovese family and became a made member.

At this point, the Profaci crime family became the Colombo crime family.

The group, through the South Colombo Youth League, became involved in a strike at the Wellawatte Spinning and Weaving Mills.

The four independent autonomous universities ( University of Ceylon, Peradeniya, University of Ceylon, Colombo, Vidyodaya University and Vidyalankara University ) which had been set up by then and the Ceylon College of Technology at Katubedda became campuses of a single university styled the University of Sri Lanka.

However, he rescinded his membership and withdrew all support when it became apparent that the relentless accusations Colombo was making against the FBI and U. S. government about racism and anti-Italian discrimination were attracting attention, which could easily divert from Colombo and his supporters ' politics and into their criminal behavior.

His contemporaries at the University included Venerable P. Panananda Nayaka Thera of Colombo, Venerable Dr. H. Saddhatissa Maha Thera ( who later became head of the London Buddhist Vihara ), Venerable Dr. U. Dhammaratana and the late Venerable Dr. Amritananda Thera, former head of the Sangha of Nepal.

Montana became involved with the Colombo Family in the late 1960s.
