** Commodore Semiconductor Group, also known as MOS Technology, Inc., famous for its various designs for Commodore Internationals range of home computers

MOS Technology, Inc., also known as CSG ( Commodore Semiconductor Group ), was a semiconductor design and fabrication company based in Norristown, Pennsylvania, in the United States.

After a while MOS became the Commodore Semiconductor Group ( CSG ).

After Commodore's bankruptcy in 1994, Commodore Semiconductor Group, MOS's successor, was bought by its former management for about $ 4. 3 million, plus an additional $ 1 million to cover miscellaneous expenses including EPA liens.

The right chip is a 6581 from MOS Technology, known at the time as the Commodore Semiconductor Group ( CSG.

Some of these chips are marked " CSG " (" Commodore Semiconductor Group ") and the Commodore Logo, while others are marked with " MOS ".

It is related to the later 6545 manufactured by MOS Technology ( Commodore Semiconductor Group ) and Rockwell ( in two variations ) and was cloned as the Hitachi 46505 ( which was used in Videx's UltraTerm card ).

The current owner of the trademark, Amiga, Inc, licensed the rights to sell hardware using the Amiga or AmigaOne brand to computer vendors Commodore USA, Eyetech Group, Ltd. and A-Eon Technology CVBA.

On 19 April 1941, RAF No. 204 Group was created under the command of Air Commodore Raymond Collishaw and consisted of the following units:

* No. 205 ( Heavy Bomber ) Group under Air Commodore Alan P. Ritchie

Other sub-commands of NATAF were the Northwest African Tactical Bomber Force under Air Commodore Laurence Sinclair, XII Air Support Command under Major General Edwin House, and No. 242 Group under Air Commodore Kenneth Cross.

The Marine Expeditionary Unit was under the command of Commodore Turner, commander, Mediterranean Amphibious Ready Group 1 – 91, aboard his flagship, the USS Guadalcanal.

Hulme began racing regularly again in 1982 with amateur racer Ray Smith, building up a team with the Holden Commodore V8 capable of winning the New Zealand Production Car Series for Group A toruing cars in 1983 / 84.

The Marlboro branding gave rise to some of Australia's most prominently recognizable race cars such as the L34 and A9X Torana, as well as the famous VK Group C " Big Banger " Commodore of Peter Brock and Larry Perkins Bathurst winning fame.

RAF Leuchars is commanded by an Air Commodore instead of a Group Captain who would usually be given command of a station.

Commodore Mayo held a large tract of land on the South River, known in the early 1900s as " Mayo's Neck " that formerly was the home estate of Captain Nicholas Gassaway the son of Maryland politician Colonel Nicholas Gassaway.

The Holden Commodore is an automobile manufactured since 1978 by the Holden subsidiary of General Motors ( GM ) in Australia, and, formerly, in New Zealand.

However, the RAF and the air forces of many Commonwealth countries, or those formerly under a British influence, use a different set of ranks loosely based on naval equivalents ; Lieutenant, Commander, Captain and Commodore are prefixed for air force use with Flight, Wing, Group and Air, respectively ( the first three being the units that they used to command ).

However, in South Africa, Delta ( formerly General Motors South Africa ) offered a revised version of the Commodore until the early 1990s, again combining the bodyshell of the Rekord with the front end of the revised Senator, which was not sold in that country.

Daejang is senior to South Korea's three other General and Admiral ranks: Chunjang ( Brigadier General / Rear Admiral Lower Half and formerly Commodore and Commodore Admiral ), Sojang ( Major General / Rear Admiral Upper Half or Rear Admiral previously ) and Jungjang ( Lieutenant General / Vice Admiral ).

Commodore obtained an infusion of cash from Gould, which Tramiel used beginning in 1976 to purchase several second-source chip suppliers, including MOS Technology, Inc., in order to assure his supply.

He agreed to buy MOS, which was having troubles of its own, only on the condition that its chip designer Chuck Peddle join Commodore directly as head of engineering.

Commodore had been reorganized the year before into Commodore International, Ltd., moving its financial headquarters to the Bahamas and its operational headquarters to West Chester, Pennsylvania, near to the MOS Technology site.

Thanks to a well-designed set of chips designed by MOS Technology, the Commodore 64, ( also referred to as C64 ), possessed remarkable sound and graphics for its time and is often credited with starting the computer demo scene.

In late 1976, CBM purchased MOS outright on the condition that Chuck Peddle would join Commodore as chief engineer.

Bill Mensch left MOS even before the Commodore takeover, and moved home to Mesa, AZ from MOS's Norristown, PA. After a short stint consulting for a local company called ICE, he set up the Western Design Center ( WDC ) in 1978.

In 1995, the company, operating under the name GMT Microelectronics ( Great Mixed-signal Technologies ), reopened MOS Technologies ' original, circa-1970 one-micrometre fab in Norristown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania that Commodore had closed in 1992.

Gould once again rescued the company, injecting another $ 3 million, which allowed Commodore to purchase MOS Technology, Inc. an IC design and semiconductor manufacturer, a company which had also supplied Commodore with calculator ICs.

Peddle responded with the Commodore PET, based on his company's MOS Technology 6502 processor.

The MOS Technology 4510 was the MOS-manufactured microcomputer chip used in the ( unreleased ) Commodore 65 8-bit home / personal computer.

Not long after the KIM's introduction, MOS Technology, Inc. was purchased by Commodore International and production of the original KIM lasted for a while under the CBM label, before it was ended.

The MOS Technology 6581 / 8580 SID ( Sound Interface Device ) is the built-in Programmable Sound Generator chip of Commodore's CBM-II, Commodore 64, Commodore 128 and Commodore MAX Machine home computers.
