The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam ( DMK ), a descendant of Dravidar Kazhagam, led the opposition to Hindi.

MGR Kazhagam supported the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam ( DMK )- led Democratic Progressive Alliance in the 2004 Lok Sabha elections.
In the 2001 Tamil Nadu assembly elections TDMK supported the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam ( DMK )- led National Democratic Alliance ( India ) ( NDA ).
