The parish encompasses four electricity industry sites: Dungeness A & B Nuclear Power Stations, a substation of the National Grid, and a former static inverter plant used by the HVDC Cross-Channel between 1961 and 1984.

Dungeness A is a legacy Magnox power station, that was connected to the National Grid in 1965 and has reached the end of its life.

The government did not include Dungeness C in its draft National Policy Statement published on 9 November 2009, citing environmental reasons and concerns about coastal erosion and associated flood risk.

This is recognised and protected mostly through its conservation designations as a National Nature Reserve ( NNR ), a Special Protection Area ( SPA ), a Special Area of Conservation ( SAC ) and part of the Site of Special Scientific Interest ( SSSI ) of Dungeness, Romney Marsh and Rye Bay.

It rises near Mount Constance in the Olympic Mountains within the Olympic National Park, flows through the Buckhorn Wilderness, passes by the town of Sequim, and empties into the Strait of Juan de Fuca at Dungeness Bay, behind the Dungeness Spit.

The Dungeness Spit is entirely within the Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge and home of the Dungeness Lighthouse.

There is also a story that, after his victory at Dungeness, Tromp attached a broom to his mast as a symbol that he had swept the British from the sea.

Sequim is located along the Dungeness River near the base of the Olympic Mountains.

Boulder Ridge ( including the Gargoyles, Charlia Lakes, Cloudy Peak, Alphabet Ridge, and Warrior ) and Home Lake / Constance Pass are readily accessed via the Buckhorn Wilderness Area ( U. S. Forest Service ) side of the Upper Dungeness River Trail and Marmot Pass.
