Several more title changes occurred, the current title was created on 9 March 2011 with a reshuffle of the Government of the 31st Dáil.

The Soviet Government awarded Mykolaiv the Order of the Red Banner of Labour on the 31st of December, 1970, for successfully fulfilling its assignments for the development of industrial production, in the USSR's five year economic plan.

The Government of Ireland Act 1920 provided for a House of Commons of Southern Ireland, for which the University was to elect four MPs as in Westminster, where University representatives were MPs and not Lords, University of Dublin seats were in the Dáil and not the Seanad.

While he continued to give the Royal Assent to legislation, summon and dissolve Dáil Éireann and fulfil the other formal duties of the governor-generalship, he declined all public invitations and kept himself invisible, as advised by " his " Government.

Therefore as the Irish Civil War began the country had two leaders, Arthur Griffith as President of Dáil Éireann, and Michael Collins as Chairman of the Provisional Government.

Cosgrave became Chairman of the Provisional Government on 25 August and, when he was also elected as President of Dáil Éireann in September, the two administrations were merged.

When the " house of parliament " was convened in 1922 it was treated by those in attendance as the Third Dáil, and its first act was to merge the Provisional Government and the Ministry of the Dáil into a single cabinet.

As plans were made to bring the new state into being, the Provisional Government under W. T. Cosgrave sought a temporary venue for the meetings of the new Chamber of Deputies Dáil Éireann and Senate Seanad Éireann.

Facing its garden front on its Merrion Square side, stands a large triangular monument commemorating three founding figures of Irish independence, President of Dáil Éireann Arthur Griffith, who died in 1922, Michael Collins and Kevin O ' Higgins, the Chairman of the Provisional Government and the Vice-President of the Executive Council ( deputy prime minister ), both of whom were assassinated, in 1922 and 1927 respectively.

During the Second Dáil the Irish Republic and the British Government of David Lloyd George agreed to hold peace negotiations.

The new assembly was recognised both by nationalists and the British Government and so replaced both the Parliament of Southern Ireland and the Second Dáil with a single body.

At this meeting, the seven signed over what they believed was the authority of the Government of Dáil Éireann to the Army Council until such a time as a new Dáil could once again be democratically elected by all the people of Ireland in all 32 counties.

A more complex case occurred however in 1949 when the First Inter-Party Government was defeated in a snap Dáil vote on a financial measure due to the absence of a number of Government TDs.
