Alliance ' 90 / The Greens () is a green political party in Germany, formed from the merger of the German Green Party ( founded in West Germany in 1980 ) and Alliance 90 ( founded during the Revolution of 1989 – 1990 in East Germany ) in 1993.

It was founded in 1978 and became the official West Berlin branch of The Greens in 1980.

That referendum was the first national referendum in the Netherlands in 200 years and it was the result of an initiative proposal by parliamentarians Farah Karimi ( Greens ), Niesco Dubbelboer ( Labour ) and Boris van der Ham ( Democrats ).

He has been active in many social movements and organizations for forty years, notably as a participant in student movements opposed to the American invasion of South Vietnam, more recently with the Southern Maryland Greens, a local chapter of the Maryland Green Party, and the Green Party of the United States.

Its National Advisory Board includes prominent Conservatives, Liberals, New Democrats, and Greens, as do many chapter executives.

Bioregional efforts continue with the recent formation of the Sequoia County Greens as a local Green Party chapter, which meets regularly in Garberville.
