At the Ellen Wilkinson High School, it meets the A665, and becomes a trunk road as Hyde Road.

It meets the A1133 ( for Gainsborough ) at a staggered junction at Newton on Trent ; the former route of both routed went through the village along High Street-330 yards east of the junction it resumes the former route ( Southmoor Road further to the south ).

It follows the dual-carriageway Wigford Way next to Brayford Pool and the University of Lincoln, over the River Witham, where it meets the B1262 High Street.

The only secondary road in the town, the B1007, passes from just south of the town centre as Laindon Road, meets the A129 at Sun Corner and then continues northwards as Billericay's High Street and then Stock Road.

It briefly follows north of the A158, to a caravan park, where it meets High Toynton.

South of the town, and north of Telegraph House, it meets Scrivelsby, following High Lane westwards to cross the B1183, south of Loxley Farm, then the A153 and skirts the southern edge of the sewage works next to the River Bain where it meets Roughton ( Thornton ).

There is also a Roman Catholic church-St John The Evangelist, but known locally as " The Willows "-on Ribby Road, a United Reformed Church on Poulton Street, a Free Methodist church " Cornerstone " based out of The Dove Theatre at Carr Hill High School, a Methodist church on Nelson Street and The Gate Community Church which meets in the Community Centre.
