If the Bill is presented to the President for assent, he shall assent to the Bill in not later than ten days. If it is not a Money Bill, the President may return the Bill to the Majlis-e-Shoora with a message requesting that the Bill be reconsidered and that an amendment specified in the message be considered.

The VIII Amendment ( Eighth Amendment ) to the Constitution of Pakistan, was short-time amendment to the Constitution of Pakistan, which was passed by the Majlis-e-Shoora, in the absence of elected Parliament of Pakistan, in 1985.

Together with the President, the Senate and National Assembly make up a body called the Majlis-e-Shoora ( Council of Advisors ) or Parliament.

The MMA garnered the second-largest majority in the National Assembly Majlis-e-Shoora with 58 out of 342 seats, as well as a provincial majority in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and a provincial minority in Sindh and Balochistan.

The Constitution, which is written in English, uses the spelling Majlis-e-Shoora ( Parliament ).

Virginia Code section 1-200 establishes the continued existence and vitality of common law principles and provides that " The common law of England, insofar as it is not repugnant to the principles of the Bill of Rights and Constitution of this Commonwealth, shall continue in full force within the same, and be the rule of decision, except as altered by the General Assembly.

In 1789 when James Madison proposed to insert the word " national " in the part of the Bill of Rights providing that " no religion shall be established by law ," Elbridge Gerry told Congress that the Antifederalists had objected to the injustice of that name because they favored a federal government, while the Federalists favored " a national one.

The Dyer Anti-Lynching Bill as it appeared in 1922 stated: " To assure to persons within the jurisdiction of every State the equal protection of the laws, and to punish the crime of lynching .... Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the phrase ' mob or riotous assemblage ,' when used in this act, shall mean an assemblage composed of three or more persons acting in concert for the purpose of depriving any person of his life without authority of law as a punishment for or to prevent the commission of some actual or supposed public offense.

The presence of the clause makes the Charter similar to the Canadian Bill of Rights ( 1960 ), which, under section 2, states that " an Act of the Parliament " may declare that a law " shall operate notwithstanding the Canadian Bill of Rights.

In New Zealand, section 16 of the Constitution Act 1986 states that " a Bill passed by the House of Representatives shall become law when the Sovereign or the Governor-General assents to it and signs it in token of such assent ".

Should the king ever choose to exercise this privilege, Article 79 provides a means by which his veto may be overridden: " If a Bill has been passed unaltered by two sessions of the Storting, constituted after two separate successive elections and separated from each other by at least two intervening sessions of the Storting, without a divergent Bill having been passed by any Storting in the period between the first and last adoption, and it is then submitted to the King with a petition that His Majesty shall not refuse his assent to a Bill which, after the most mature deliberation, the Storting considers to be beneficial, it shall become law even if the Royal Assent is not accorded before the Storting goes into recess.

The text of the Constitution, Article I, Section 9 ; Clause 3 is " No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed ".

Contrast this with the subtly more modern variation of the Texas version: Article 1 ( Titled Bill of Rights ) Section 16, entitled Bills of Attainder ; Ex Post Facto or Retroactive Laws: Impairing Obligation of Contracts: " No bill of attainder, ex post facto law, retroactive law, or any law impairing the obligation of contracts, shall be made ".

The authority of the Secretary of the Interior under this joint resolution to construct, operate, and maintain demonstration plants shall terminate upon the expiration of twelve years after the date on which this joint resolution is approved.

If the Bill, transmitted to the other House, is not passed within ninety days or rejected, it shall be considered in a joint sitting to be summoned by the President on the request of the House in which the Bill was originated.

If the Bill is passed in the joint sitting, with or without amendments, by the votes of majority of the members of the two Houses, it shall be presented to the President for assent.

In a joint sitting of the two Houses, convened for the purpose, and after the deliberations, if the resolution is passed by the votes of not less than two-thirds of the total membership of the Parliament, the President shall cease to hold office immediately on the passing of the resolution.
