* 1863 – A 65-man French Foreign Legion infantry patrol fought a force of nearly 2, 000 Mexican soldiers to nearly the last man in Hacienda Camarón, Mexico.

Juan Ramón de la Fuente Ramírez ( born 5 September 1951 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican psychiatrist, academician and politician who served as Secretary of Health in the cabinet of President Ernesto Zedillo ( 1994 – 1999 ) and as rector of the National Autonomous University of Mexico ( UNAM ) from 1999 to 2007.

He showed a lively interest in Mexican culture and history, following summer courses on the Spanish and Mayan languages, the history of Latin American literature and the history of Mexico at the National Autonomous University of Mexico ( UNAM ) in the years 1927 and 1928.

Delgado studied journalism at the National Autonomous University of Mexico ( UNAM ) and has worked in the Mexican national newspapers El Nacional, El Universal, and El Financiero, as well as the political newsmagazine Proceso.

After finishing his law degree at the UNAM, he worked as a consulting lawyer in the Directorate of Legal Subjects of the Secretariat of Government, as a consulting lawyer in the Directorate of Legal Affairs of the Mexican Presidency and as the General Director of Education of the Education Ministry.

Ismael Íñiguez González ( born July 23, 1981 in Ocotlan, Jalisco ) is a Mexican football player who plays for Lobos de la BUAP on loan from Pumas UNAM.

During the 50s and the 60s this stadium was used mostly for college American football matches between the largest Mexican public universities: UNAM and IPN.

During the final matches of the Mexican football league between Club America and UNAM Pumas in 1985 the authorities of the UNAM Pumas allowed more spectators into Estadio Olímpico Universitario than the capacity allowed for the building.
