The Perth names Charterhouse Lane and Pomarium Flats ( built on the site of the Priory's orchard ) recall its existence.

Kilburn Priory's position on Watling Street meant that it became a popular resting point for pilgrims heading for the shrines at St Albans and Willesden.

Gisborough Priory's east window was one of the first examples of a monastic ruin to be retained for its visual qualities.

Therefore Bermondsey Priory had control of most of the Southwark area, its ' home ' manor excepting the The Borough and the eastern side of the high street which had already been within the ownership of the Archbishop of Canterbury, which divided the Priory's holdings.

In some church records the town is referred to as ' Norton Canonicorum ' as an alternative to Midsomer Norton, and this may be because of the local Priory's link to Merton Priory in London until the dissolution of the monasteries in 1546.
