During 2011, structural failures in and around the Roundhill Tunnel have caused the A20 to be closed in this area numerous times.

Additionally, KY 185 is a north-south route connecting Bowling Green with points in Grayson County and points north which lie between I-65 ( which goes from Bowling Green to Elizabethtown and Louisville ) and the William H. Natcher Parkway from Bowling Green to Owensboro ; it enters Edmonson County near the community of Roundhill and passes north paralleling the Edmonson County-Butler County line before entering Grayson County south of Reedy.

Roundhill Primary School, Beeston, Nottinghamshire was used as the location for ' Walker Street Middle School '.

It also contains a Key Stage 3 secondary school, Roundhill Community College, which takes in students from all the aforementioned schools in the village, as well as schools in the neighbouring town of Syston.

It has several primary schools: England Lane Junior and Infant School, Ferrybridge Infant School, Ferrybridge Roundhill Junior School, Knottingley Church of England Junior and Infant School, Knottingley Vale Junior and Infant School, Simpsons Lane Junior and Infant School and Throstle Farm Junior and Infant School.

The Ohau skifield near Omarama, and Roundhill and Mount Dobson Ski Areas at Lake Tekapo, are small commercial skifields popular amongst many living in Canterbury and Otago.

On 24 April 1826 over 1, 000 men and women, many armed, gathered at Whinney Hill in Clayton-le-Moors to listen to a speaker from where they marched on Sykes ’ s Mill at Higher Grange Lane, near the site of the modern police station and Magistrate ’ s Courts, and smashed over 60 looms.

A small private church dedicated to St. Audrey was built by Lord Sackville Cecil, son of the Marquess of Salisbury, on the site of Olive's Mill in 1889 ; The church and other mill premises came into the possession of the parish in 1908, and since 1925 the former Olive's Mill House has been used as the rectory.

The United Kingdom / Carl Zeiss / Bausch & Lomb Optical Works was established at Mill Hill East in 1912 and demolished in about 1990, to be replaced by a large building owned by the Jehovah Witnesses, to complement their nearby Watchtower House built on the site of the former Bittacy House.

Mill Hill East has been designated by the Mayor of London in his London Plan as a ' proposed area of intensification ', in and around the Inglis Barracks site.

It was later the site of the Nelson Mill.

Madison and Oglethorpe counties share Watson Mill Bridge State Park, the site of the longest covered bridge in Georgia.

More minor developments include roadworks to incorporate Park & Ride buses on the site, and the redevelopment of the nearby Bishop Hall Mill Pond.

On the site of the priory dedicated to St Olaves, there is Priory Mill, a drainage windpump.

There are now homes on the site, known as Mill Court.

The City Government has been behind a few taxpayer funded disasters such as a " world class Golf Course " that currently is sitting vacant and leeching money through mortage payments and buying the former GP Mill Site for a proposed housing development suggested by Mayor Dave Turner, until it was learned that the site is a toxic waste dump in serious need of clean up.

As the property under the existing school was not large enough, a site on Mill Street was chosen.

Johann August Sutter ( February 15, 1803 – June 18, 1880 ) was a Swiss pioneer of California known for his association with the California Gold Rush by the discovery of gold by James W. Marshall and the mill making team at Sutter's Mill, and for establishing Sutter's Fort in the area that would eventually become Sacramento, the state's capital.

It is situated in the area approximately bounded by the High Street, North Street and Mill Lane.

Mill Hill consists of several distinct parts: the old original centre based around Mill Hill Village ; the later-developed but now main hub of the area at Mill Hill Broadway, and the area around Mill Hill East.

A further area at the western edge of the suburb, The Hale, is on the borders of Mill Hill and Edgware, and is partly in each.

It is thought that the name ' Mill Hill ' may be derived from a mill on The Ridgeway, built on an area of open ground ( now a park ) known as The Mill Field.

As late as 1960 five shops existed in the Village ( Griffin's sub-Post Office, The Blenheim Steps, Cook & Son ( sweets and groceries ), Hawes Brothers ( grocers ) and Vincett's ( butchers )) but although the buildings survive, they have all since been converted into private houses, as the retail focus in the area shifted to Mill Hill Broadway.

The small local retail area at Mill Hill East is at “ Kelly ’ s Corner ” ( officially Holders Hill Circus ) east of the station.

The area was also served by another smaller station, Mill Hill ( The Hale ), opened by the Edgware, Highgate and London Railway in 1867, but passenger services ended in 1939, and freight traffic in 1964.
