Fort Simpson is the regional centre of the Dehcho and is the gateway to the scenic South Nahanni River and the Nahanni National Park Reserve.

Nahanni Butte Water Aerodrome, is adjacent to the community on the South Nahanni River and is open from the middle of June until October.

The Narran River flows from the Balonne River in Queensland into Narran Lake in New South Wales.

The lowest point in the state of Wyoming is located on the Belle Fourche River in Crook County, where it flows out of Wyoming and into South Dakota.

Through this county flows the South Branch Potomac River with its surrounding magnificent valley.

At the present day, the gorge is several hundred feet deep, and the South Branch flows in a narrow channel at the bottom, with almost perpendicular walls of rock on either side.

Rockingham is bi-sected by another geographic formation, Massanutten Mountain stretching from just east of Harrisonburg, VA to a few miles southwest of Front Royal, VA in Warren County, VA. Massanutten Mountain splits the central Shenandoah Valley as the German River and the North Fork of the Shenandoah River flow on its western side and the South Fork flows on the eastern.
