The Tuvan People's Republic ( People's Republic of Tannu Tuva ; Tuvan: Tьвa Arat Respuвlik, Тыва Арат Республик, Tyva Arat Respublik ) ( 1921 – 1944 ) was an independent state in the territory of the former Tuvan protectorate of Imperial Russia ( though part of the Qing Empire until its collapse in 1911 ), also known as Uryankhaisky Krai ().
