The Wexner Center's Film / Video Theater is known for films that are new and different, rare and classic, or just too edgy for the multiplex.

The Wexner Center, hotly anticipated as the first major public deconstructivist building, has required extensive and expensive retrofitting because of elementary design flaws ( such as incompetent material specifications, and fine art exhibition space exposed to direct sunlight ).

Wexner was born to Russian Jewish immigrants in Dayton, Ohio.

Wexner was recently recognized as the wealthiest man in the state of Ohio.

He was a major funder of the Wexner Center for the Arts at The Ohio State University, the name of which is actually intended to honor his father.

Wexner was appointed to the Board of Trustees of The Ohio State University and served from 1988 to 1997.

In December 2005, Wexner was appointed to his second term and was elected chairman of the Board in 2009.

A major retrospective of 25 years of Taymor's work opened in the fall of 1999 at the Wexner Center for the Arts and toured the National Museum of Women in the Arts ( Washington D. C .) and the Field Museum of Natural History ( Chicago ), and was extended due to popular demand in each venue.

Rapid growth in New Albany began in the 1990s, much due to the expansion of the Les Wexner clothing empire and Wexner's construction of his mansion ( the 2nd largest in central Ohio behind the Longaberger mansion ) off Kitzmiller Road in the village.

The New Albany Classic is a USEF / FEI-sanctioned equestrian event held each September since 1998 on the estate of Leslie Wexner and his wife Abigail Wexner, founder of the event.

The estate is the location of the Annual New Albany Classic Invitational Grand Prix & Family Day benefiting the Columbus Coalition Against Family Violence, of which Abigail Wexner is Founder and Board Chair.
