During the 10th Party Congress ( March 1921 ) Lenin condemned the Workers Opposition, a faction within the Communist Party, for deviating from communism and accused Trotsky of factionalism.

Several Central Committee members, who were members of the Workers Opposition, offered their resignation to Lenin but their resignations were not accepted, and they were instead asked to submit to party discipline.

The 10th Party Congress also introduced a ban on factionalism within the Communist Party ; however, what Lenin considered to be ' platforms ', such as the Democratic Centralists and the Workers Opposition, were allowed.

Despite the ban on factionalism, the Workers ' Opposition continued its open agitation against the policies of the Central Committee, and before the 11th Party Congress ( March 1922 ) the Workers ' Opposition made an ill-conceived bid to win support for their position in the Comintern.

The Workers ' Opposition () was a faction of the Russian Communist Party that emerged in 1920 as a response to the perceived over-bureaucratisation that was occurring in Soviet Russia.

The Workers ' Opposition advocated the role of unionized workers in directing the economy at a time when Soviet government organs were running industry by dictat and trying to exclude trade unions from a participatory role.

Specifically, the Workers ' Opposition demanded that unionized workers ( blue and white collar ) should elect representatives to a vertical hierarchy of councils that would oversee the economy.

The Workers ' Opposition demanded that Russian Communist Party secretaries at all levels cease petty interference in the operations of trade unions and that trade unions should be reinforced with staff and supplies to allow them to carry out their work effectively.

Leaders of the Workers ' Opposition were not opposed to the employment of " bourgeois specialists " in the economy, but did oppose giving such individuals strong administrative powers, unchecked from below.

The conflict was centered on Carnegie Steel's main plant in Homestead, Pennsylvania, and grew out of a dispute between the National Amalgamated Association of Iron and Steel Workers of the United States and the Carnegie Steel Company.

Anton Drexler ( 13 June 1884 – 24 February 1942 ) was a German far-right political leader of the 1920s, instrumental in the formation of the anti-communist German Workers ' Party.

The German Workers ' Party was the precedent to the Nazi Party, and Drexler served as mentor to Adolf Hitler during his early days in politics.

He was a poet and a member of the völkisch agitators who, together with journalist Karl Harrer, founded the German Workers ' Party ( DAP ) in Munich with Gottfried Feder and Dietrich Eckart in 1919.

Later the same day Hitler received a postcard telling him that he had been accepted for membership of what was at that time the German Workers ' Party.

Though Hitler was originally against the idea ( but later convinced ), Drexler changed the name of the party to the National Socialist German Workers ' Party ( Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei or NSDAP ) early in 1920.

Nazi Party ) led by Adolf Hitler attempts a coup against the Bavarian and German governments in the Beer Hall Putsch, which fails, resulting in Hitler being briefly imprisoned for one year in prison where he writes Mein Kampf.

Local 8 of the Marine Transport Workers was led by Ben Fletcher, who organized predominantly African-American longshoremen on the Philadelphia and Baltimore waterfronts, but other leaders included the Swiss immigrant Waler Nef, Jack Walsh, E. F. Doree, and the Spanish sailor Manuel Rey.

The headquarters of the United Farm Workers ( UFW ), a national farmworkers organization organized and led by Cesar Chavez, is located in Keene, and is sometimes referred to as " Nuestra Señora Reina de La Paz ".

However, in RTÉ she and Alex White ( then TV producer and now Labour Party TD ) were attacked and criticised by a group led by Eoghan Harris associated with the Workers ' Party over what they perceived as her bias towards Republican groups in the North.
