Its album Pimp to Eat featured guest appearances by various members of Rhyme Syndicate, Odd Oberheim, Jacky jasper ( who appears as Jacky Jasper on the song " We Sleep Days " and H-Bomb on " War "), D. J.

The song " The Raven " featured lead vocals by the actor Leonard Whiting, and, according to the 2007 remastered album liner notes, was the first rock song to use a digital vocoder, with Alan Parsons speaking lyrics through it.

Although the studio version of Freudiana was produced by Parsons ( and featured the regular Project backing musicians, making it an ' unofficial ' Project album ), it was primarily Woolfson's idea to turn it into a musical.

" Run From Love " was subsequently released in a remix form on the Bronski Beat album Hundreds & Thousands, a collection of mostly remixes ( LP ) and b-sides ( as bonus tracks on the CD version ) as well as the hit " I Feel Love ".

On February 1, 1999, Barış Manço died of a sudden heart attack before the release of his just finished last work Mançoloji ( Mançology or Manchology ) ( 1999 ), a double album containing the new recordings of his hit songs along with an unfinished instrumental song " 40.

The album garnered the band their first and only No. 1 hit single on the Modern Rock Tracks chart with the title track " Celebrity Skin ".

The comedy group Buckner & Garcia released a novelty concept album, Pac-Man Fever, that went gold and produced a hit single of the same name ; all of the songs on the album pertained to popular video games of the time.

The Jacksons ( previously The Jackson 5 ) did many disco songs from 1975 to 1980, including " Shake Your Body ( Down to the Ground )" ( 1978 ), " Blame it on the Boogie " ( 1978 ), and " Can You Feel It " ( 1980 )— all sung by Michael Jackson, whose 1979 solo album, Off the Wall, included several disco hits, including the album's title song, " Rock with You ", " Workin ' Day and Night ", and his second chart-topping solo hit in the disco genre, " Don't Stop ' til You Get Enough ".

The rich orchestral accompaniment that became identified with the disco era conjured up the memories of the big band era — which brought out several artists that recorded and disco-ized some big band arrangements including Perry Como, who re-recorded his 1929 and 1939 hit, " Temptation ", in 1975, as well as Ethel Merman, who released an album of disco songs entitled The Ethel Merman Disco Album in 1979.

Of the previously unreleased songs, " Down to the Wire " features the New Orleans pianist Dr. John with Buffalo Springfield on an item from their shelved Stampede album ; " Love Is a Rose " was a minor hit for Linda Ronstadt in 1975 ; " Winterlong " received a cover by Pixies on the Neil Young tribute album from 1989, The Bridge ; and " Campaigner " is a Young song critical of Richard Nixon.

After a three-year period of experimentation he re-emerged in 1972 during the glam rock era with the flamboyant, androgynous alter ego Ziggy Stardust, spearheaded by the hit single " Starman " and the album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.

In 1975, Bowie achieved his first major American crossover success with the number-one single " Fame " and the hit album Young Americans, which the singer characterised as " plastic soul ".

Incorporating ambient sounds from a variety of sources including white noise generators, synthesizers and koto, the album was another hit, reaching number three in the UK.
