In 1997, the band released a compilation album, My Body, The Hand Grenade, which featured material from the band's earliest recordings in 1989 up until 1995, and, in September 1998, released their third studio album, Celebrity Skin, which featured a stark power pop sound as opposed to the group's earlier punk rock influences.

A third version of the video, included on the band's compilation of videos, retains the introduction, but loses most of the inserted clips in the main wrestling sequence.

The band's American breakthrough came with the third album, Travelling Without Moving in 1996, which yielded two big hits, " Virtual Insanity " and " Cosmic Girl ".

The Remain in Light album's lead single, " Once in a Lifetime ", became a Top 20 hit in the UK but initially failed to make an impression upon its release in the band's own country.

The band's breakthrough came in 1982 with the release of the single " Party Fears Two ".

A 12-inch single, the band's first, containing extended mixes of both tracks was also released, but " Bear Cage " also only managed No. 36 in the charts.

In January 1979, the Undertones recorded their eponymous debut album at Eden Studios in Acton, West London, using producer Roger Bechirian, whom the band had worked with for the first time the previous December, when Bechirian had produced the band's second single, " Get Over You ".

The group also picked up a cult following in Australia thanks to the support of the Sydney rock radio station 2JJ ( now Triple-J ) and the nationally broadcast weekly music TV show Countdown, which screened all of the band's early videos ( beginning with their first Australian single release-" This Is Pop "); thanks to this interest, the group made two well-received tours there in 1979 and 1980.
