There are three cities within the county's borders: Newburgh, on the Hudson River ; Port Jervis, on the Delaware River ; and Middletown, halfway between the other two.

The three of county's Virginia State Senate seats are held by Democrats and one by a Republican, including Democratic Sen. Charles Colgan, the President pro tempore of the Senate.

A judge, elected on an at-large basis, provided a fifth vote, but the result was that the three rural commissioners, representing only three percent of the county's population, held a majority of the votes.

Local and regional buses service the area with stops within three blocks of the stadium, and the county's Metro bus service offers express routes from several area park and ride lots for games.

A county may be further subdivided into townships or other administrative jurisdictions under the county's control.

The county's development is a mix of rural and suburban, with denser development in the larger towns of Aberdeen and Bel Air and along Route 40 and other major arteries leading out of Baltimore.

In other results Republican Sam Reed received 74. 6 % of the county's vote in his run for re-election as Washington Secretary of State ; Republican Allan Martin received 67. 25 % of the vote for state treasurer ; and Republican Rob McKenna received 76. 28 % in his re-election run for Attorney general.

The county's name was changed to Orange County in 1845 when Florida became a state, and over the next 70 years several other counties were created.

In early March 2008, Moody's followed suit and indicated that it would also review the county's ability to meet other bond obligations.

Due to its remote location in an isolated part of the county, it is seen less than many of the county's other covered bridges that are closer to the major populations centers such as Lancaster.

Gloucester County has celebrated Werowocomoco and other significant Powhatan heritage sites as part of the county's history.

The county's other incorporated towns, Crandall, Elizabeth, Laconia, Mauckport, New Middletown, and New Amsterdam all have populations under 150.

Most of the county's other towns were established during this period as well.

The lake is fed by the Etowah and Little rivers ( the county's primary waterways ), and other large streams such as Noonday Creek.

Piggott, Arkansas is a city in Clay County, Arkansas, one of that county's two seats ( Corning is the other ).

Raymond Frank, the sheriff of Travis County from 1973 – 1980, determined that the county's law enforcement budget was better spent on more serious offenses, and skinny-dipping activities were generally ignored as long as no other laws were being broken.

The team was divided and the players frequently clashed with each other ; some critics believe this was a factor in the county's failure to win the County Championship in the 1950s.
