The Hues Corporation's 1974 " Rock the Boat ", a U. S. # 1 single and million-seller, was one of the early disco songs to hit # 1.

The same year saw the release of " Kung Fu Fighting ", performed by Carl Douglas and produced by Biddu, which reached # 1 in both the U. K. and U. S., and became the best-selling single of the year and one of the best-selling singles of all time with eleven million records sold worldwide, helping to popularize disco music to a great extent.

George McCrae's Rock Your Baby became the United Kingdom's first number one disco single.

Many original television theme songs of the era also showed a strong disco influence, such as " Keep Your Eye On The Sparrow " ( theme from Baretta, performed by Sammy Davis, Jr. and later a hit single for Rhythm Heritage ), Theme from " S. W. A. T.

The Supremes, The group that made Ross famous and without which there probably wouldn't be any Diana Ross, scored a handful of hits in the disco clubs without Ross, most notably 1976's " I'm Gonna Let My Heart Do the Walking " and, their last charted single before disbanding, 1977's " You're My Driving Wheel ".

A two-time Grammy Award-winner known for his distinctive bass voice and romantic image, White's greatest success came in the 1970s as a solo singer and with the Love Unlimited Orchestra, crafting many enduring soul, funk, and disco songs such as his two biggest hits, " You're the First, the Last, My Everything " and " Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe.

Instant Funk were a 1970s disco band, best known for their disco classic, " I Got My Mind Made Up ( You Can Get It Girl )".

The Rimshots covered Blue Mink's " Get Up ", retitled as the disco single " 7-6-5-4-3-2-1 ( Blow Your Whistle )" in 1976, and had a hit single.

Destination was a disco studio group from New York who had two chart entries: In 1979, " Move On Up " / " Up Up Up " / " Destination's Theme ," which spent four weeks at number one on the Hot Dance Music / Club Play chart, and # 68 on the Hot Soul Singles chart.

Fever was a disco studio group from Ohio who scored a number of hits on the Hot Dance Music / Club Play Chart, the most successful being " Beat of the Night " / " Pump It Up ," which hit # 1.

She had a brief career resurgence during the disco era: as a member of the Philadelphia International All Stars ( which also included Lou Rawls, Billy Paul, Teddy Pendergrass, The O ' Jays and Archie Bell ) she had a minor hit with " Let's Clean Up the Ghetto.

The music in the song is modernized using a techno beat that slowly morphed into the synth ABBA intro of " Hung Up " ( 2005 ) when the screens also change to display disco balls.
