Joan, Countess of Kent ( 29 September 1328 – 7 August 1385 ), known to history as The Fair Maid of Kent, was the first post-conquest Princess of Wales.

In 1730, he became the first king in Swedish history to have an official mistress, the young noblewoman Hedvig Taube, who was given the title Countess of Hessenstein.

The Countess of Wessex is particularly close to her mother-in-law, The Queen, with whom she rides and shares an interest in military history.

Although the number of murders is debated, she has been labeled the most prolific female serial killer in history and is remembered as the " Blood Countess.

He married Margaret Leslie, 8th Countess of Rothes ( d. 1700 ), daughter of the noted statesman John Leslie, 1st Duke of Rothes, who had received a re-grant of the earldom of Rothes in 1663 which allowed it to be passed on to his daughter ( see the Earl of Rothes for earlier history of this title ).

The baronetcy was inherited by a male heir ( see Tollemache Baronets for later history of this title ) while the lordship and earldom passed to his niece Wynefryde Agatha, the tenth Countess.

In 1793, on the death of her and Lord Stormont's uncle William Murray, 1st Earl of Mansfield and Mansfield, Louisa inherited ( under a special remainder in the letters patent ) the earldom of Mansfield created in 1776, and became the second Countess of Mansfield, while her husband inherited the earldom of Mansfield created in 1792, and became the second Earl of Mansfield ( see the Earl of Mansfield and Mansfield for later history of these titles ).

The earldom, which could be passed on to female heirs, was inherited by the Earl's daughter and only child, the twelfth Countess ( see the Earl of Seafield for later history of the earldom ).
