Turkey will build new military / intelligence satellites including a 0. 8m resolution reconnaissance satellite ( Project Göktürk-1 ) for use by the Turkish Armed Forces and a 2m resolution reconnaissance satellite ( Project Göktürk-2 ) for use by the Turkish National Intelligence Organization.

In the treaty, Turkey gave up all claims to the remainder of the Ottoman Empire and in return the other signatories recognized Turkish sovereignty within its new borders.

The Treaty of Lausanne led to the international recognition of the sovereignty of the new Republic of Turkey as the successor state of the defunct Ottoman Empire.
