From the park's inception in 1971 until 2010, the Meadow Pavilion, a covered outdoor stage adjacent to Children's Theatre in the Woods, hosted events for the International Children's Festival at Wolf Trap ( known as International Children's Day from 1971 to 1974 ).

In 1994, the " Center " was dropped from the park's name, and by 1996, the park was simply named Epcot.

The original plans for the park showed indecision over what the park's purpose was to be: some Imagineers wanted it to represent the cutting edge of technology, while others wanted it to showcase international cultures and customs.

Water gathered from major rivers across the globe was emptied into the park's fountain of nations ceremonial containers to mark the opening.

The park's area has been expanded several times through land reclamation, and was the focus of several disputes in the late 1800s and early 1900s over open space use.

The last of the land in the proposed park's borders was sold to the federal government four years later, and on February 25, 1928, the renamed Bryce Canyon National Park was established.

In May 1872 after the park's creation, Langford was named its first superintendent.

This was known as the " lysine contingency ," and was supposed to prevent the cloned dinosaurs from surviving outside the park, forcing them to be dependent on lysine supplements provided by the park's veterinary staff.

The park's first director and one of its initiators was the legendary " carpenter from Skåne " Herman Lindholm, who managed it 1923 – 42.

A grandstand was built in 1895 to house spectators for sporting events at the park's former oval track, but it was torn down in 1953.

It also reported that the park's attendance was far behind expectations.

The movie was shown in 1979 at Six Flags Great America theme park's Pictorium and was the first movie shown at the new theatres.

The park's name was changed to Holiday World in 1984.

One of the very reasons for the park's creation, however, was also one of the county's first major economic engines: the lumber industry.

In another example, the Gagudju people of Arnhemland, for which Kakadu National Park is named, believe that the sandstone escarpment that dominates the park's landscape was created in the Dreamtime when Ginga ( the crocodile-man ) was badly burned during a ceremony and jumped into the water to save himself.

Edward Durrell Stone designed the park's most enduring feature, the roof's 96-arch " Crown of Arches ," The Crown echoed the iconic Gateway Arch, which was completed only a year before Busch Stadium officially opened.

The Dingo Fence was built along the national park's northern boundary.

In 1975 a reservation of 104 square kilometres of land beyond the park's northern boundary, 15 kilometres from Uluru, was approved for the development of a tourist facility and an associated airport, to be known as Yulara.

The original Bladensburg homestead, which was probably transported to the site some time in the 1910s, houses the park's visitor information centre today.

The park's vegetation is a remnant of the Open Sclerophyll Woodland which was once common in this area.

In 1907 Al-Tro Island Park renovated Pleasure Island, Al-Tro was named for being halfway between Albany and Troy, and the park's manager boasted of surpassing Coney Island.

In early 2010, the Texas Giant roller coaster was closed to be renovated into a super-hybrid coaster and was reopened on April 22, 2011, as the NEW Texas Giant for the park's 50th anniversary.

Following the theme park's demolition, the station moved into a renovated guestroom at Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center.

Starting in 2008, the zoo's then 30-year-old Discovery Center was renovated and redesigned to bring it in line with modern zoo standards ; apart from displaying the majority of the park's invertebrates, it also incorporates a display with traditional Navajo stories relating to the animals.

The park's 25th anniversary, the next year, added The Storm: Mother Nature's Thrill Ride, children's swing ride Swirly Twirl, and U-Drive: Safety School Of Motoring, a renovated Turnpike.

A campground was completed in time for the 1978 season and the park's well-known Lost World mountain debuted in 1979.

The new park's name is a temporary one until naming rights are purchased.

Named Constitution Park when first created in 1832, it wasn't until 1857 that the elm trees arrived and with it the park's new name.

( which owns the national rights to amusement-park branding of the Peanuts license ) had broken down, primarily over the mall's rights to effectively market its park within and outside the United States, and effective January 19, the park's Peanuts branding would end, the park being temporarily renamed " The Park at MOA " while new branding was being applied.

The park's new licensing deal and name, " Nickelodeon Universe ", was announced on July 25, 2007.

The old logo was phased out after the new, all-text Nickelodeon Universe logo was revealed in an ad for the park's New Year's Eve event.

The year following the park's creation saw portions of six new townships added to the existing park's boundaries ( Paxton, McCroney, Finlayson, Butt, Ballantyne, and Boyd ).

The new Veterans Memorial Stadium was completed in time for the opening of the 2002 season, and the Kernels set a franchise attendance record of 196, 066 in the new park's inaugural year.

The team moved to a new park in downtown Peoria, O ' Brien Field, on May 24, 2002 ; they set a franchise attendance record of 254, 407 in the new park's first year and also won the midwest league championship.
