The one occasion where the band was introduced as " The Alan Parsons Project " in a live performance was at Night of the Proms 1990 ( at the time of the group's break-up ), featuring all Project regulars except Woolfson who was present but behind the scenes, while Parsons stayed at the mixer except during the last song, where he played acoustic guitar.

It remains the group's most commercially successful song.

The group's worldwide buzz started with " Ego Trippin '," its first 12-inch single on Next Plateau Records in 1986 that was the first hip hop song to feature the " Synthetic Substitution " drum break sample.

J. Miller ( a lament for a lost Gibson guitar and a metaphor about " an old girlfriend from Kalamazoo "); and " Kalamazoo " ( 2009 ) by Mike Craver on his album Shining Down.

As well as performing a trio of his own hits during the ceremony, Prince also participated in a tribute to fellow inductee George Harrison in a rendering of Harrison's " While My Guitar Gently Weeps ", playing a long guitar solo that ended the song.
