Janis Joplin charted five singles, and other popular songs from her four-year career include " Down On Me ", " Bye, Bye Baby ", " Coo Coo ", " Summertime ", " Piece of My Heart ", " Turtle Blues ", " Ball ' n ' Chain ", " Try ( Just A Little Bit Harder )", " Maybe ", " To Love Somebody ", " Kozmic Blues ", " Work Me, Lord ", " Move Over ", " Cry Baby ", " A Woman Left Lonely ", " Get It While You Can ", " My Baby ", " Trust Me ", " Mercedes Benz ", " One Night Stand ", " Raise Your Hand " and her only number one hit, " Me and Bobby McGee ".

Sinatra recorded several anti-war songs, including " My Buddy ", featured on her album Sugar, " Home ", co-written by Mac Davis, and " It's Such A Lonely Time of Year ", which appeared on the 1968 LP The Sinatra Family Wish You a Merry Christmas.

His greatest success came with Monument Records between 1960 and 1964, when 22 of his songs placed on the Billboard Top Forty, including " Only the Lonely ", " Crying ", and " Oh, Pretty Woman ".

Anka became famous in the late 1950s and 1960s with hit songs like " Diana ", " Lonely Boy ", and " Put Your Head on My Shoulder ".

Other songs about boredom and activities people turn to when bored include Green Day's song " Longview ", System of a Down's " Lonely Day ", and Bloodhound Gang's " Mope ".

Wilson recorded six more songs co-written by Gordy over the next two years, including " Lonely Teardrops ", which topped the R & B charts and got to number 7 in the pop chart.

Harris ' songs " Boulder to Birmingham ", from her 1975 album Pieces of the Sky, and " The Road ", from her 2011 album Hard Bargain, are tributes to Parsons.

* The eighteen-wheeled truck was immortalized in numerous country music songs such as Dave Dudley's " Six Days on the Road ".

Three more albums followed: 1985's Little Creatures ( which featured the hit singles " And She Was " and " Road to Nowhere "), 1986's True Stories ( Talking Heads covering all the soundtrack songs of Byrne's musical comedy film, in which the band also appeared ), and 1988's Naked.

Tom Jones wrote or co-wrote the following songs: " And I Tell The Sea ", " Looking Out My Window ", " Feel The Rain ", " Jezebel ", " The Letter ", " Younger Days ", " Tom Jones International ", " Holiday ", " The Road ", " 24 Hours ", " Seasons ", " We Got Love ", " Seen That Face ", " Give A Little Love ", " If He Should Ever Leave You ", " Whatever It Takes " and " Didn't It Rain ".

The reissue features a 16-page booklet and six unreleased live tracks from the original recording sessions, including " Love Song to a Stranger ", " You Ain't Goin ' Nowhere ", " Geordie ", " Gracias a la Vida ", " The Water Is Wide " and " Stones in the Road ", bringing the total tracklisting to 21 songs ( on two discs ).

While in Britain, Waller also recorded a number of songs for EMI on their Compton Theatre organ located in their Abbey Road Studios in St John's Wood.

In the Quiet Hours showcased a new composition " As It Is In Heaven ," while Cinemascapes includes three previously unreleased songs: " The Road Home ," " Lighthouse ," and " For the Love.

One of these songs (" The Long Road ") was re-used on the soundtrack for Eat Pray Love in 2010.

While at the Chapel Road studio, in about 1981, Norman, backed by the Barratt Band, recorded songs for Before and After, a tribute album of Bob Dylan covers scheduled to be released in 1982 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Dylan's recording career.

" In addition to his Children of Sorrow album, on June 12, 1994 Norman released A Moment in Time, a concept album which contained rough mixes of ten new songs ( including " Long Hard Road " co-written with Dizzy Reed ) written while he was in hospital and recorded in the studio for the as yet unreleased Pushing Back the Darkness album, that also raised funds for CCPC to fight child pornography.

On December 30, 2008 Randy Stonehill's album Paradise Sky, the official soundtrack to Fallen Angel, was released by Bryan Duncan's Red Road Records, which was advertised as Paradise Sky: A Tribute to Larry Norman, attracting some criticism: " It ’ s hard to see how Randy Stonehill recording new versions of his own songs, but this time without the involvement of the late Larry Norman, is in any sense a tribute.

Also, Jah is referenced many times in Damian Marley's song Road to Zion and in the songs of Costa Rican singer, Noah, such as " If you don't believe in Jah, we can not be together " It also appears in Gregory Isaac's Night Nurse, " Only you can quench this Jah thirst.

In June 2007 they released The Road Back Home, a compilation of remixed songs from 1994 to 2006, plus " Little Deceiver " ( a previously unreleased track ) and the full version of their cover of Genesis ' " The Cinema Show ".

The pre-The Beatles band The Quarrymen performed the song during 1956 early live performances along with other Presley songs, Paul McCartney later also made another cover of the song in Chaos and Creation at Abbey Road, performing it with Bill Black's bass.

The third collection featured out-takes and demos from The White Album, Abbey Road, and Let It Be as well as several songs from Harrison and McCartney which later became post-Beatle tracks.

Roe maintains that he was not completely happy with half of the songs, although he went on to state that in spite of this, several of the songs such as " Fast Times at Dropout High " and " Road Signs and Rock Songs " were still to date some of the band's strongest of their earlier career.
