The three Partitions of Luxembourg

The Partitions of Poland or Partitions of the Polish – Lithuanian Commonwealth – three partitions which took place in the second half of the 18th century and ended the existence of the Polish – Lithuanian Commonwealth (; ), resulting in the elimination of sovereign Poland for 123 years.

In English, the term " Partitions of Poland " is sometimes used geographically as toponymy, to mean the three parts ( sectors, or provinces ) that the partitioning powers divided Poland into, i. e.: the Austrian partition, the Prussian partition and the Russian partition.

The town is surrounded by forests, and it was first mentioned in 1414 r. In 1490, it belonged to a parish from Jaworzno, and until the first partition of Poland ( 1772, see Partitions of Poland ), it was a small village, which belonged to Krakow Voivodeship, one of three voivodeships of Lesser Poland.

It's worth to be noticed that as a result of The Partitions of Poland at the end of 18th and splitting the country in three parts divided between three, Polish neighbours, in 19th century region of Konin became a part of Russia ( unlikely to the rest of Greater Poland being itself the part of Prussia ).

The political boundaries shifted with time between Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic and other countries ; the three social strata remained a constant: clergy, nobility and peasants.
