Then in December, 1994, citing " serious questions " relating to the village's handling of a program to refurbish single-family homes, Cook County had suspended the release of grant money to the village for new projects.

As of the 2000 census, Indian Creek's land area of and population of 194 made it the smallest incorporated town in the county, although since 2000, a new housing development may have doubled the village's population.

However, it was soon realised that a full-scale attack had been waged on the city of Belfast ( today known as the Belfast Blitz, the greatest loss of life outside London during the blitz ) and the village's Air Raid Precautions volunteers disappeared into Belfast for several days to help with the recovery.

Approximately ten tributaries feed this river, whose course ends in the Serra de Água, and much later empties into the Atlantic along the village's coast.

During the Mexican War of Independence, the village's population, composed and dominated by some creoles and mestizos, showed itself to be indecisive about joining the war effort, but after Independence father Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla entered triumphantly in Guadalajara, the indifference turned into enthusiasm for the cause.
