Among his surviving buildings are the Red Fort and Jama Masjid in Delhi, the Shalimar Gardens of Lahore, sections of the Lahore Fort ( such as Sheesh Mahal, and Naulakha pavilion ), and his Tomb of Jahangir.

A famous example of the charbagh style of Mughal garden is the Shalimar Gardens in Lahore, where the domeless Tomb of Jahangir is also located.

On its western bank is the town of Shahdara Bagh with the tomb of Jahangir and the Tomb of Noor Jahan.

The Lilly design was later used by Mughals in Tomb of Jahangir, Tomb of Nur Jehan and the Shah Burj Gate in Lahore Fort.

Jahan also built the Tomb of Jahangir and sections of the Lahore Fort that include the Moti Masjid, Sheesh Mahal, and Naulakha pavilion which are all enclosed in the fort.

The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus or Tomb of Mausolus ( in Greek, ) was a tomb built between 353 and 350 BC at Halicarnassus ( present Bodrum, Turkey ) for Mausolus, a satrap in the Persian Empire, and Artemisia II of Caria, who was both his wife and his sister.

Modern buildings based upon the Mausoleum of Mausolus include the National Newark Building in Newark, New Jersey, Grant's Tomb and 26 Broadway in New York City, Los Angeles City Hall, the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne, Australia, the spire of St. George's Church, Bloomsbury in London, the Indiana War Memorial ( and in turn Chase Tower ) in Indianapolis, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Southern Jurisdiction's headquarters, the House of the Temple in Washington D. C., the Civil Courts Building in St. Louis, and the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial in Pittsburgh.

Notable monuments and statues in the park include the Eleanor Roosevelt Monument at 72nd Street ( Penelope Jencks, sculptor ), the Soldiers and Sailors Monument at 89th Street, the Joan of Arc statue at 93rd Street ( Anna Hyatt Huntington, sculptor ; John V. Van Pelt, architect ), and Grant's Tomb, New York's version of the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus.

The Mausoleum is a cenotaph, where the coffin contains no body, but only headdresses and accessories, because the actual Tomb of Genghis Khan has never been discovered.

Lenin's Mausoleum () also known as Lenin's Tomb, situated in Red Square in the center of Moscow, is the mausoleum that serves as the current resting place of Vladimir Lenin.

Many of the cemetery's tombs are of great architectural or artistic interest, including the Getty Tomb, the Martin Ryerson Mausoleum ( both designed by architect Louis Sullivan, who is also buried here ), and the Schoenhofen Pyramid Mausoleum.

An extensive research project was conducted in which hundreds of famous tombs ( such as the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus and Grant's Tomb ) as well as all existing presidential burial sites.

The Orthodox Church chose Carol Park as the new location for the cathedral, and in 2004, the Năstase government gave 5 hectares of the park to the Romanian Orthodox Church, so that the cathedral could be built in place of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Bucharest and the Mausoleum of Communist Heroes.

Specifically, we are protesting the inclusion of the Potala Palace that was built by the Tibetan people and served as the home of successive Dalai Lamas since 1645, the Id Gah Mosque and Tomb of Abakh Hoja which serve as cultural icons of the people of Eastern Turkestan and the Mausoleum of Genghis Khan and the Mongolian Yurt exhibit which attempt to add a Chinese name to the Southern Mongolian people.

In 1997, a Guard of Honour of the Kremlin Regiment ( which had guarded the Lenin Mausoleum ) was restored at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier by the federal law of December 8, 1997, " On Immortalizing the Soviet People ’ s Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 ".
