Van Morrison's family roots descend from the Ulster Scots population that settled in Belfast.

The sessions resulted in the release of Crimson and Blue, a bluesy rock album geared to the Christian market that included a cover of Van Morrison's " When Will I Ever Learn to Live in God ".

Richard Davis, upright bass player on " The Angel ", also played the bass on Van Morrison's Astral Weeks.

Van Morrison's influence can be heard in this song, as " 4th of July, Asbury Park ( Sandy )" closely parallels his romanticization of Belfast in such songs as " Cyprus Avenue " and " Madame George " from the 1968 album, Astral Weeks.

Other notable songs that are played at almost all shows, but have been dropped on occasion, are " Son of a Son of a Sailor ", Van Morrison's " Brown Eyed Girl " and Crosby, Stills and Nash's " Southern Cross ".

Recording dates were set for July and August 1993 for what would become Buckley's recording debut, an EP of four songs which included a cover of Van Morrison's " The Way Young Lovers Do ".

In the San Francisco Chronicle, Ralph J. Gleason noted: " It is really in the quality of his sound that Van Morrison's impact comes through most strongly.

The song " Into the Mystic ", played at the end of the film when Jim and Michelle take to the dance floor at the reception, begins as Van Morrison's recording, but midway through it changes to The Wallflowers ' cover version due to licensing reasons.

From Japan, notable artists included Mondo Grosso, DJ Krush, Gota and United Future Organization who released ' I Love my Baby: My Baby Loves Jazz ' as well as a cover of Van Morrison's ' Moondance '; another prominent artist from Japan was the female vocalist and flautist ( and daughter of jazz musicians Japanese-American Toshiko Akiyoshi and American Charlie Mariano, and stepdaughter of American Lew Tabackin ), Monday Michiru.

For the role, Leigh dropped to and sang all her songs live, including a rambling 8½-minute version of Van Morrison's " Take Me Back " performed as her character is under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

Bobby Vinton's slow and soothing version of " Blue Moon " plays during the opening credits, Van Morrison's " Moondance " as David and Alex make love for the first time, Creedence Clearwater Revival's " Bad Moon Rising " as David is nearing the moment of changing to the werewolf, a soft, bittersweet ballad version of " Blue Moon " by Sam Cooke during the agonizing wolf transformation and The Marcels ' doo-wop version of " Blue Moon " over the end credits.

During that show, they performed " Gloria " by Van Morrison's Northern Irish Them band.

Ladbroke Grove features as the scene of Van Morrison's 1968 song " Slim Slow Slider " from Astral Weeks, and is mentioned in the 1970s pop hit " One Man Band " by Leo Sayer.

This was the first of several episodes ( including " I Shot an Arrow Into the Air ", " A Hundred Yards Over the Rim " and " The Rip Van Winkle Caper ") to be filmed on location in Death Valley.

MGM produced a short film Van Gogh: Darkness Into Light, narrated by Dore Schary and showing the European locations used for the filming, to promote Lust for Life.

In a year when Van Morrison and Patti Smith released their own spiritual works in Into the Music and Wave, respectively, Dylan's album seemed vitriolic and bitter in comparison.

A new drummer was found, Ariën Van Weesenbeek, and the band entered the studio at the end of 2002 to record Into the Lungs of Hell.

Eddie Van Halen would later explain ( in regard to the MTV Video Music Awards appearance ) that he had initially been embarrassed by Roth's antics while on camera behind Beck, who was giving an acceptance speech for the award that Van Halen had presented to him.

In August 2010, Warner / Chappell Music extended its administration agreements with Van Halen ( specifically Eddie and Alex Van Halen ).

1996: On September 4, at the 1996 MTV Video Music Awards, the four original members of Van Halen received 20-second standing ovation when they made their first public appearance together since their break-up in April 1985.
