Nikolay Kirillovich Maksyuta (), born 26 May 1947, was the governor of Volgograd Oblast from 1996-2009.

Mamayev Kurgan () is a dominant height overlooking the city of Volgograd ( formerly Stalingrad ) in Southern Russia.

Stalingrad is the former name of Volgograd, a city in Russia.

In 1961, the name was changed from Stalingrad to Volgograd (" Volga City ") as part of Nikita Khrushchev's programme of de-Stalinization.
