In March 2005 McLagan joined Ronnie Wood's band at a London show, which also featured Kenney Jones on drums for the final encore ; and in December 2005 Wood joined Ian McLagan & the Bump Band for three numbers at a concert in Houston, Texas.

He served on the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas before being assassinated by Charles Harrelson outside Wood's home in San Antonio, Texas, in 1979.

Among his singles were " Way Back In The Fifties ", " Hi Summer " backed with " My Girl And Me ", both written and produced by Lynsey De Paul, ( the theme song to an ITV variety series he co-hosted ), " Maybe God's Got Something Up His Sleeve ", the John Lennon song " Imagine ", plus a cover version of the Cliff Richard hit " Miss You Nights ", and Wood's " Aerial Pictures ".

Wood's singing voice was dubbed by session singer Jackie Ward with the exception of the introduction to the song " You're Gonna Hear From Me " ( by Dory Previn and Andre Previn, who composed the score ).

While Goodman's cover version of " The Dutchman " is one of the best known, along with a cover by Irish artists Liam Clancy and Tommy Makem, the song has been covered by many other artists as well, including Bernard Wrigley, John Gorka, Suzy Bogguss, Norm Hacking, Anne Hills, John McDermott, The New Kingston Trio, Gamble Rogers, Tom Russell, Jerry Jeff Walker, Robert James Waller, Cashman & West, Wood's Tea Company, Keith Harkin, Celtic Thunder, David Soul, Danny Doyle and Brendan Grace.

The song was played on the supporting tour for the album, however, and a live recording by Traffic was later released on Wood's 2008 solo album Vulcan.

Variant names of the New River include " Wood's River ", after Abraham Wood.

The Now released two singles " Development Corporations " / " Why " on Ultimate Records in November 1977 and a deal with Lee Wood's Raw Records signed in mid 1978 produced two songs, " Into The 80's " and " 9 ' O ' Clock " ( actually recorded for Raw in late 1977 ) which were re-mixed and scheduled for March 23 release.
