She runs away and right into Xander, who takes her to the safety of Buffy's house.

In a view of the future, Xander sits watching TV, yelling at Anya while their son runs around teasing their daughter, who is clearly part demon.

When Xander notices Spike's coat on the stairs, then finds Buffy on the floor in the bathroom with a large bruise on her leg, he realizes what happened.

Xander later discovers Harmony crying, burning some of Spike's things.

Spike's conditioning is a complex, fictitious form of conditioning which Xander says is " left over from every army movie I've ever seen ".

En route to the crypt, several demons attack, still drawn to Xander because of Willow's spell.

That night, Cordelia and Xander sneak into the hospital's record room and search for records on the girl who died in the night.

Xander is sent in search of ingredients ; en route he spots Cordelia in a clothing store, where her mystery deepens: she has in fact been accepted to a batch of good schools, including Columbia.

Xander and Giles search the streets for Faith and Adam but instead encounter Spike, who claims he intends to help Faith kill them all.

First forming in the Season One episode " The Harvest " to prevent The Master from opening a portal to hell, the line-up of the group varied from year to year, but the core that remained intact throughout the series ' run was Buffy herself and her best friends, Xander Harris and Willow Rosenberg, as well as her Watcher, Rupert Giles.
