* Highlighting what he sees as the difficulty in understanding the guru from Eastern tradition in Western society, Dr. Georg Feuerstein, a well-known German-American Indologist, writes in the article Understanding the Guru from his book The Deeper Dimension of Yoga: Theory and practice :" The traditional role of the guru, or spiritual teacher, is not widely understood in the West, even by those professing to practice Yoga or some other Eastern tradition entailing discipleship.

In an article he wrote for Life magazine, Williams discussed why he chose her for the part :" Anna and I had both cherished the dream that her appearance in the part I created for her in The Fugitive Kind would be her greatest triumph to date ... he is simply a rare being who seems to have about her a little lightning-shot cloud all her own ....

In one such article, his focus was Muir's debt to Carr, stating that she was his " guiding star " who " led him into the noble paths of life, and then kept him there :"
