Notable establishments on Rivington Street include the University Settlement House ( the first settlement house in New York ), Streit's Matzos, Schiller's restaurant, musician Moby's vegan shop TeaNY, the social center called ABC No Rio, the Clemente Soto Velez Cultural and Educational Center, and the newly-constructed 21-story Hotel on Rivington.

The scene was focused around venues such as the famous CBGBs, ABC No Rio, A7 and Brooklyn's L ' amour.

ABC No Rio is a social center located at 156 Rivington Street on New York City's Lower East Side that was founded in 1980.

In addition, ABC No Rio plays host to a number of radical projects in New York City, including weekly hardcore punk matinees and the NYC Food Not Bombs collective.

ABC No Rio seeks to be a community center for the Lower East Side, sponsoring projects and benefits for the community, as well as a center of radical activism in New York City, promoting " do it yourself volunteerism, art and activism, without giving-in or selling-out to corporate sponsors.

That space became ABC No Rio.

Python was conceived in the late 1980s and its implementation was started in December 1989 by Guido van Rossum at CWI in the Netherlands as a successor to the ABC language ( itself inspired by SETL ) capable of exception handling and interfacing with the Amoeba operating system.

By the time the smoke had cleared in 1943, NBC found itself shorn of its Blue network, which became ABC.

Records imprint manages the portion of Universal's catalog that was acquired from ABC Records, which itself includes the jazz catalog of the Famous Music Group, once owned by Paramount Pictures / Gulf + Western, but was sold to ABC in 1974.
