Petter Olsen formerly owned one of the four versions of Edvard Munch's The Scream ( 1895 ), one of the world's most iconic works of art.

The Scream is Munch's most famous work and one of the most recognizable paintings in all art.

* 1994 – Edvard Munch's iconic painting The Scream is recovered undamaged after having been stolen from the National Gallery of Norway in February.

Wood's best known work is his 1930 painting American Gothic, which is also one of the most famous paintings in American art, and one of the few images to reach the status of universally recognised cultural icon, comparable to Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa and Edvard Munch's The Scream.

This information, however, is presumed to be a part of the original story that was cut since there is no mention of Abe's mother in Munch's Oddysee at all.

Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee is a 2001 video game, originally released for Xbox.

There, Humphrey implants a sparking sonar device in Munch's head, though Irwin is more interested in the value of the Gabbit's lungs.

Soon after, Abe's head is a trophy and the Vykkers are ready to take Munch's lungs for the Glukkon queen, Lady Margaret, killing Munch in the process.

More critical of the title, GameSpot gave the game a 7. 9 stating " Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee is a very smart game with great puzzles, yet there's not enough variety in those puzzles to keep it completely entertaining throughout .".

Currently, there is no set release date for Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee HD for PlayStation 3.

According to IGN, Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee is currently listed as " cancelled " for Xbox 360.

Like Watkins ' other films, Edvard Munch uses a docudrama approach ; scenes from Munch's life are re-enacted by a large cast ( mostly Norwegian non-professional actors ), but there is also a voiceover narration by Watkins, and there are moments when the characters speak directly to camera, as if being interviewed about their own lives or their opinions of Munch.

Very little is known about John Munch's childhood and over the years, he has tried to keep it that way.

Munch's partner at the start of Homicide is Stanley Bolander ( played by Ned Beatty ), an experienced police detective with more than 20 years under his belt.

A rare example of consistent continuity between the two shows is Munch's amicable divorce from Gwen, who has appeared in episodes of both Homicide and SVU as portrayed by actress Carol Kane.

Homicide: The Movie, which features Munch's temporary return to the Baltimore Homicide Unit for one case ( the shooting of his former lieutenant ), briefly acknowledges that Munch is currently assigned to the Special Victims Unit in New York.

He also appears in several roles in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as Dan Latimer, in ' Limitations '( Season 1, Episode 14 ); Munch's informant, in ' Wrong is Right '( Season 2, Episode 1 ); Special Agent Rod Franklin, in ' Wrath ' ( Season 3, Episode 2 ); Mike Millinax, in ' Scheherade ' ( Season 8, Episode 10 ).

He is best known for creating the Oddworld series including the games Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee, Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus and Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath.

Lanning is also known for his voice talent and has voiced many characters in the Oddworld games including Oddworld's signature character Abe, Munch and the Stranger, as well as Alf ( Abe's Exoddus ), the Vykkers Humphrey and Irwin ( Munch's Oddysee ), Blisterz Booty, Doc Vykker, Castraider and Sekto ( Stranger's Wrath ), General Dripik and Director Phleg ( Abe's Exoddus ) and the Sligs ( Abe's Oddysee, Abe's Exoddus and Munch's Oddysee ).

One of Munch's younger sisters was diagnosed with mental illness at an early age.

Still dependent on his family for many of his meals, Munch's relationship with his father remained tense over concerns about his bohemian life.

" Munch's paintings of the following year included sketchy tavern scenes and a series of bright cityscapes in which he experimented with the pointillist style of Georges Seurat.

This work reveals Munch's preoccupation with the " fall of man " myth and his pessimistic philosophy of love.

" However, despite this positive change, Munch's self-destructive and erratic behavior involved him first with a violent quarrel with another artist, then with an accidental shooting in the presence of Tulla Larsen, who had returned for a brief reconciliation, which injured two of his fingers.

In the 1930s and 1940s, the Nazis labeled Munch's work " degenerate art " ( along with Picasso, Paul Klee, Matisse, Gauguin and many other modern artists ) and removed his 82 works from German museums.

In addition to the endings, if the player saves all 300 Mudokons, they are rewarded with a screen that says " Coming in 2000, Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee ".

The film covers about thirty years of Munch's life, focusing on the influences that shaped his art, particularly the prevalence of disease and death in his family and his youthful affair with a married woman.

Briscoe also develops a friendship with one of the few featured Jewish police officers during his tenure, John Munch ( Richard Belzer ), despite Munch's initial resentment when he discovers Briscoe had slept with Gwen Munch, one of Munch's ex-wives.

In the third season episode of Homicide, " Law and Disorder ", Munch was suspected by Detective Tim Bayliss of having murdered Gordon Pratt ( played by Steve Buscemi ), a Baltimore man suspected of shooting three homicide detectives, including Munch's partner Stanley Bolander who he was with at the time.

Beginning with the third season, Munch's role on the show started to shrink.

He was convicted again for his involvement with the theft and sale of Edvard Munch's Madonna in 1992, and sentenced to 7 months in prison.

Lanning provided every character voice for Abe's Oddysee alone but was later joined by other Oddworld Inhabitants crew members to voice characters in Abe's Exoddus, Munch's Oddysee and Stranger's Wrath but with Lanning still voicing the majority of the characters.

Motifs such as The Empty Cross and Golgotha ( both c. 1900 ) reflect a metaphysical orientation, and also echo Munch's pietistic upbringing.

Munch also produced multi-colored versions of " The Sick Child " which sold well, as well as several nudes and multiple versions of Kiss ( 1892 ) Many of the Parisian critics still considered Munch's work " violent and brutal " but his exhibitions received serious attention and good attendance.

Myklebust also played an important role in the expansion and renovation of the museum in 1994 for the 50th anniversary of Munch's death.

Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee was the first game in the planned five-part Oddworld series, which also includes its direct sequels, Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus and Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee.

However, Munch's storyline also touched on the book's depiction of the relationship between real-life detectives Donald Worden and David Brown, in which Worden was relentless in his tutelage / hazing of the younger detective but also genuinely wanted him to succeed and was impressed when the younger cop did excellent work.
