The municipalitiy has 10 primary schools and 1 secondary school.

On January 1, 2006 Kihoku, along with the towns of Aira and Kushira, both from Kimotsuki District, was merged into the expanded city of Kanoya and no longer exists as an independent municipalitiy.

On January 1, 2006 Kushira, along with the town of Aira, also from Kimotsuki District, and the town of Kihoku, from Soo District, was merged into the expanded city of Kanoya and no longer exists as an independent municipalitiy.

I've posted all older versions to be deleted as some of those contain an extra municipality which I mistakenly thought existed, and others don't have a capital of a municipalitiy indicated.

The seat or any other locality within a municipalitiy is never a political or administrative entity of its own, but an integral part of the municipality.

It is bounded on the north by Digos City, the provincial capital, Davao Gulf on the east, the municipalitiy of Matanao on the west, the municipality of Kiblawan on the southwest and the municipality of Padada on the south.

The municipalitiy is divided into the following comarcas:

* West: San Andrés municipalitiy.

Bordering to the north is the municipalitiy of San Esteban Catarina, to the north east the municipality of Santa Clara, to the east with San Ildefonso, to the south with Ciudad de San Vicente ( the department capital ) and to the west with the municipality of San Cayetano Istepeque.
