According to the National Register of Historical Places Mascot is home to historical site to a Georgian-style house built in 1838, the Chesterfield home which is located at the corner of Old Rutledge Pike and Mine Road.
Also a part of the Mascot community is the famous Turtle Rock, also known as Dinosaur Rock and Reptile Rock by locals and tourists.
The painted imitation " turtle " rock can be found on Mascot Road.
This rock is considered an important part of the Mascot community and recently underwent renovation in May of 2012, courtesy of two young locals, in response to an unfortunate vandalism.
