On October 13, 2010, the Camarillo City Council voted 5 – 0 to withdraw from the Ventura County Library System, and enter into a public-private contract with Library Systems & Services ( LSSI ) of Germantown, Maryland, a private company that administers several libraries throughout the United States, to provide locally hired staffing and to manage the day-to-day operations of the City of Camarillo Public Library.
