In " Déjà Q ", Q is punished by the Q Continuum by being made mortal ; his committing of an uncharacteristically selfless act ( sacrificing his life so that a race attacking him won't destroy the Enterprise ) garners the return of his powers.

In the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode " Déjà Q " the omnipotent Q, stripped of his powers and left to live as a mortal human, sarcastically refers to himself as " The king who would be man.

After the reception, Q returns to repay Captain Picard for saving him in " Déjà Q.

It became one of the most revered songs from the Déjà Vu album ( Q magazine's Peter Doggett regards it as " one of ( the album's ) showpieces "), and has remained a live favorite of Young's for over thirty years.
