Following the band's breakup, Rollins established the record label and publishing company 2. 13. 61 to release his spoken word albums, as well as forming the Rollins Band, which toured with a number of lineups from 1987 until 2003, and during 2006.

In summer 2006, X toured North America on the " As the World Burns " Tour 2006 with the Rollins Band and Riverboat Gamblers.
The festival, created by Perry Farrell and Marc Geiger, was to become a farewell tour for Jane's Addiction, but at the same time it was a music festival with bands such as Nine Inch Nails, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Butthole Surfers, Fishbone, The Rollins Band, The Violent Femmes, Body Count, and Ice-T. During this time Jane's Addiction began to get more exposure than they had ever before.
Rollins Band was an American rock band led by singer and songwriter Henry Rollins.

In this era, Rollins Band recorded with flamethrowing free jazz saxophonist Charles Gayle, though these sessions remained unreleased for ten years at Gayle's request to avoid conflicts with his contractual obligations.
Rollins Band signed with the then new major label DreamWorks Records, who released 1997's Come In And Burn.
Rollins replaced the Haskett-Gibbs-Cain lineup with the Los Angeles rock band Mother Superior, retaining the name Rollins Band, and released Get Some Go Again ( 2000 ) and Nice ( 2001 ).
In 2003, the Rollins Band released Rise Above: 24 Black Flag Songs to Benefit the West Memphis Three.
They've also toured with and opened for artists such as Bad Religion in 1988, GWAR in 1989, Nirvana and Alice in Chains in 1990, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Faith No More, Rollins Band and Beastie Boys in 1992, Pearl Jam in 1994 and Marilyn Manson and The Offspring in 1997.
The company has released albums by the Rollins Band, all of Rollins's spoken-word work, and numerous books.
