The most famous example occurred in 1954, when Milan ( enrollment 161 ) defeated Muncie Central ( enrollment over 1, 600 ) to win the State title.

Both stories, Milan and Crispus Attucks, are memorialized for their accomplishments and tradition at the Indiana State Museum as well as at the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in New Castle, Indiana.

But on March 30, 2010 the Supreme Court of the State of New York ruled in favor of the Town of Milan and its town-wide ban on mining.

Furthermore, State Route 601 is an alternate two-lane highway that acts as a de-facto eastern bypass of Norwalk and US 250, running from SR 113 at Milan to SR 18 southeast of Norwalk.

Milan has a large, modern city park located on State Route 104.
