John Duncan MacLean ( 8 December 1873, in Culloden, Prince Edward Island – 28 March 1948, in Ottawa, Ontario ) was a teacher, physician, politician and the 20th Premier of British Columbia, Canada.

Called to the bar in 1873 he was the first person to receive his entire law education in British Columbia.

He studied at Columbia University from 1870 to 1872, then at Amherst College from 1873 to 1875, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa in the class of 1875.

At the close of the Civil War he moved to New York City where he graduated from Columbia College in 1871 and Columbia Law School in 1873.
