Aldous Leonard Huxley ( 26 July 1894 – 22 November 1963 ) was an English writer and one of the most prominent members of the famous Huxley family.

In 1963, he became a teaching assistant for Beniamino Andreatta in the Department of Economics and the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Bologna, subsequently serving as associate professor ( 1966 ) and finally ( 1971 – 1999 ) as Professor of Industrial Organisation and Industrial Policy.

He moved to London from Yorkshire in the early 1960s, playing with Alexis Korner and the Marzipan Twisters before moving on to Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames, the Graham Bond Organisation ( in 1963 ) and Brian Auger.

Jacob was the co-author ( along with Lord Ismay ) of the 1963 Report on the Central Organisation of Defence, a work he later came to regard as his most important ever.
