The air travel disruption after the 2010 Eyjafjallajökull eruption caused the acceleration to integrate the national air traffic control systems into the Single European Sky and the immediate creation of a crisis coordination group to handle future transport disruptions.

The Single European Sky is one initiative aimed at solving these problems.

DVB-S is used in both Multiple Channel Per Carrier ( MCPC ) and Single channel per carrier modes for Broadcast Network feeds as well as for Direct Broadcast Satellite services like Sky ( UK & Ireland ) via Astra in Europe, Dish Network and Globecast in the U. S. and Bell TV in Canada.
