* A white squall was allegedly behind the sinking of the schooner Albatross on May 2, 1961.

The Wandering Albatross is the largest member of the genus Diomedea ( the great albatrosses ), one of the largest birds in the world, and one of the best known and studied species of bird in the world.

It also operated two Grumman SA-16 / HU-16 Albatross amphibians to fly from Chuuk ( Truk ) to Pohnpei ( Ponape ), until an airfield could be built that could accommodate the 727.

In the same year they scored a hit with Green's " Black Magic Woman " ( later covered more successfully by Santana ), followed by the guitar instrumental " Albatross " ( 1969 ), which reached number one in the British singles charts.

The Waved Albatross ( Phoebastria irrorata ), also known as Galapagos Albatross, is the only member of the Diomedeidae family located in the tropics.

Seabirds include four species of albatross: Black-browed Albatross ( Diomedea melanophris ), Grey-headed Albatross ( Thalassarche chrysostoma ), Light-mantled Albatross ( Phoebetria palpebrata ), and Wandering Albatross ( Diomedea exulans ).

In the 2007 live audio production of the Angie Award-winning screenplay Albatross ( original screenplay written by Lance Rucker and Timothy Perrin ) at the International Mystery Writers Festival, he played seven characters requiring four different accents: KGB agent Stefan Linnik, East German Communist Party apparatchik Kurt Mueller ; a West Berlin gasthaus owner ; an armed forces radio announcer ; the Senate minority whip ; a Secret Service guard ; and Gerhard Derstman, the East German Cultural Attache / Stasi member.

Out of the few albums / songs that were ever recorded by local bands at that time, most of them like Ugrakarma ’ s " Himalayan Metal of Death ", " Blood Metal Initiation " and Albatross ’ " Hi: Fly " were done at BMI / Sacred Soundz.

Savage Pencil was also a member of The Art Attacks, a band who released two 7 " s ; " I'm A Dalek " b / w " Neutron Bomb " ( released on the Albatross label in 1977 ) and " First & Last " / " Punk Rock Stars " / " Rat City " ( released on the Fresh label in 1979 ).
