A Coil spring, also known as a helical spring, is a mechanical device, which is typically used to store energy and subsequently release it, to absorb shock, or to maintain a force between contacting surfaces.

* Terrifying Tapper ( voiced by Hal Smith )-A supervillain that can travel through telephone wires with his weapon, the deceminator which he used to send Coil Man to Ackbar the Martian ( Don Messick ) in his flying saucer and Multi Man to Captain Cutlass ( Hal Smith or Alan Reed ) on his smuggling ship, the Sea Serpent.

In the 1970s and 1980s, industrial noise groups like Current 93, Hafler Trio, Throbbing Gristle, Coil, Laibach, Steven Stapleton, Thee Temple ov Psychick Youth, Smegma, Nurse with Wound, Einstürzende Neubauten, The Haters, and The New Blockaders performed industrial noise music mixing loud metal percussion, guitars, and unconventional " instruments " ( such as jackhammers and bones ) in elaborate stage performances.

Contributors to Psychic TV have included artists such as Coil, Current 93, Hafler Trio, The Cult, White Stains, Soft Cell, Fred Giannelli, XKP, Master Musicians of Jajouka, Matthew Best, Daniel Simon Black, Bill Breeze, Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson, Derek Jarman, John Gosling, Timothy Leary, Rose McDowall, Stephen Kent, Vagina Dentata Organ, Andrew Weatherall, Larry Thrasher, Z ' EV, Zef Noi $ e, Jeff Berner, and many others.

Thee Temple ov Psychick Youth or TOPY was a fellowship founded in 1981 by members of Psychic TV, Coil, Current 93, and a number of other individuals.

Douglas P. of Death In June has played on well over a dozen Current 93 releases, and Steve Ignorant of Crass ( using the name Stephen Intelligent ), Boyd Rice, runologist Freya Aswynn, Nick Cave, Björk, Andrew W. K., Will Oldham, Ben Chasny, Rose McDowall, Tiny Tim, Tony Wakeford of Sol Invictus, Marc Almond, John Balance of Coil, Antony Hegarty of Antony and the Johnsons, Baby Dee and Ian Read of Fire + Ice have also lent their talents over the years.

Outside of Coil he collaborated with Nurse with Wound, Death in June, Psychic TV, Current 93, Chris & Cosey, Thighpaulsandra and produced several Nine Inch Nails remixes.

She contributed backing or lead vocals for Coil, Current 93, Death in June, Felt, Alex Fergusson, Into A Circle, Megas, Nature and Organisation, Nurse With Wound, Ornamental, Psychic TV and Boyd Rice on recordings as well as singing or playing guitar for live appearances.

Between 1993 and 2001 they released two albums and one EP through World Serpent Distribution and performed in Europe and the U. S. During this time McDowall continued to record and perform with Current 93 and Coil, including the short-lived group Rosa Mundi.

Wire magazine also regularly applies the term to the gothic-tinged neo-romantic post-industrial music of Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV, Coil, Current 93 and others, calling it " a shadowy scene whose work accents peculiarities of Englishness through the links and affinities they've forged with earlier generations of the island's marginals and outsiders.

The current conceptions of a " Pagan rock " genre lay with two musical strands: first with the idea of a modern music created by and for Neopagans as typified by the artist Gwydion Pendderwen, and secondly with the occult themes pursued by early industrial music pioneers Genesis P-Orridge ( Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV ) and John Balance ( Coil, Current 93 ).

Further use of the name " Maldoror " has been numerously involved with the " apocalyptic folk " band Current 93, the British experimental band Coil and the Italian avant-garde metal band Thee Maldoror Kollective.

Since the couple began collaborating, Carter and Tutti have worked with a variety of similarly respected and recognized avant-garde artists including, Monte Cazazza, Coil, Current 93, John Duncan, Erasure, Eurythmics, Boyd Rice, and Robert Wyatt.

William Breeze ( August, 12 1955 ) is an American musician and occultist, a member of the band Coil, and the current international leader of Ordo Templi Orientis.

During their 2005 European Tour, Lacuna Coil debuted two new songs from Karmacode at selected concerts: " Our Truth " and " Fragile " under the working titles " Antonio " and " A2 " respectively.

In February and March 2009, Lacuna Coil played at the Australian music festival Soundwave alongside metal acts including DevilDriver, In Flames, Lamb of God, and Nine Inch Nails.
