However, the tanker aircraft and aircrews participated in the " Young Tiger " TDY effort, and the bomber aircrews went through RTU ( Replacement Training Unit ) training to fly B-52Ds out of Andersen AFB, Guam and U-Tapao RTAFB, Thailand and were active participants in many of the notable campaigns that took place in Southeast Asia such as Arc Light.

Recovering from a case of tinnitus that had come about after the recording of 1990's Ragged Glory and its subsequent tour ( which produced 1991's Weld and Arc ), Young was determined to return to the studio.

In 1966, the 306 BW began preparing and training for deployment to the Western Pacific in support of Projects Arc Light & Young Tiger.

From 1965 and into the 1970s, the 2d Bomb Wing prepared for the day when they would deploy to Southeast Asia for " Arc Light " and " Young Tiger " missions.

Arc is a composition of feedback, guitar noise, and vocal fragments that was realized from various shows on the 1991 Neil Young and Crazy Horse US tour, which was originally released with Weld in a special-edition 3-CD set called Arc-Weld.

Tanker and bomber crews of the 380th were temporarily assigned to the Pacific theater in support of B-52 " Arc Light " missions and KC-135 " Young Tiger " operations.
