Babylon Zoo were a British rock band of the mid-1990s from Wolverhampton, England, fronted by Jas Mann.

Babylon Zoo was signed to Phonogram Records, after A & R man Clive Black heard their first three-track demo tape, in May 1993.

It stayed at # 1 for five weeks, sold over a million copies, and Jas Mann, the man behind Babylon Zoo, became the first solo male to make their chart debut at number 1.

More recently, excitement was caused when Jas Mann of Babylon Zoo was rumoured to have bought a house near the church.

In 1993, a three-track demo from Mann's next project Babylon Zoo earned him a contract from Phonogram Records.

Mann went on to form Babylon Zoo who had a No. 1 single with " Spaceman " in over 20 countries in 1996.
