Early postal service from Cleveland was provided by rider Artemis Beebe, who held the first contract to deliver mail across the Black River.

Former University of Arkansas quarterback Barry Lunney, Jr. was a junior high student at Beebe while his father, Barry Lunney, Sr., was head football coach at Beebe High School ( 1987 – 1988 ).

John Adams, who attended and played basketball at Beebe High School, and in 1941, was a member of the Arkansas Razorbacks Final Four team, is credited by some as being the inventor of the jump shot.

A. S ." Bro " Erwin, who was a longtime football and basketball coach at Beebe High School and a longtime superintendent, coached Beebe High School to the 1941 Class A boys state championship and is in the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame.

Also, two graduates of Beebe High School are currently serving in the Arkansas General Assembly.

Jonathan Dismang, a 1997 graduate of Beebe High School, is a Republican state senator representating District 29, in which Beebe is located.

Jeremy Gillam, a 1994 graduate of Beebe High School, and current resident of Judsonia, is a state representative serving District 49, in which Beebe is also located.

In September 1891, Beebe began attending East Orange High School.

The next episode, Doug's New School, introduced Beebe Bluff Middle School, with Emily Kristal becoming Doug's new teacher, Bone transferring to the school with the same job that he had at Bluffington Elementary, and former mayor Bob White ( In the Nickelodeon episode Doug Runs, Tippi Dink defeated him in election, becoming mayor for the rest of the series ) becoming the principal.

Robert " Bob " White ( Voiced by Greg Lee ): The former mayor of Bluffington and principal of Beebe Bluff School ; a stereotypical fast talking, slick politician.

Beebe attended Kaneland High School in Maple Park, IL where he lettered in basketball, track and football.

In 2004, Beebe began coaching varsity football for Aurora Christian School in Aurora, IL.

In 2008, Southside was the recipient of " Best Practice School " by Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe.
